Potsdam Westend
If you leave the inner city west bound, you enter the Brandenburg suburb, the Brandenburger Vorstadt. Complete streets of houses in the style of Art Nouveau and declamatory Nazi architecture neighbour each other and the vivid quarter is close-by the park of Sanssouci.
We can explore this part of the city starting from the Luisenplatz (at the Brandenburg gate) or walk down the Breite Straße from Potsdam Central Station, which once was a magnificent street and is loaded with heavy traffic nowadays – nonetheless a lot of architectural gems and astonishing stories can be found here, that are frequently ignored.
